Girls Camp 09

Rain, rain go away we are going to camp. After an unusually wet spring we knew we were going to get wet. We knew these cute hoodies would be very appropriate and we loved the yellow color, it brought a little sunshine. We were lucky enough to get two large canopies that really covered us well and helped keep us dry. We had great help setting up and working together. That seemed to work all through the week. Things really did run smooth and we did have a lot of fun. The girls were the best and never a negative or mean word about another was ever heard. We ate and cooked under the canopy and we did duct tape flowers and journals and leatherworking and hair braiding and whistle laniards and tablecloth art!
We even had little blue bear at camp with us! I love Darby camp. So many memories when I was a young women going to camp. I talked the leaders into staying in the cabin, cause, oh darn there were no more tent sights. It was a little cushie. We had great campfire singing every night, it seemed the rain would always let us do that. The girl's loved singing and they did a lot of that. I loved the PJS (prayer, journal and scriptures). The leaders each had a little teaching time around the fire at night and then they would write in their journals and they would write and write and write.

Well we had a sweet time and sweet memories. We packed up and headed home. As I unpacked that Saturday afternoon, I couldn't find my camera, and the sick feeling came over me that it had been left in the cabin at Darby. We had tons of pictures that KC had taken and I just had to have it. So I jumped in the car and headed for Darby. I was very relieved when I opened the cabin door and there it was laying on my bed. Ya Hoo!!!!! and little blue bear said one last goodbye to Darby.

I must say that I was very glad to have been part of camp, it is a lot of work, a lot of pressure, but very rewarding and a fun time with the girls in our ward.
