Baby Boy Cook arrives

Well I was not the first to hold the baby, but I could put my picture in first. Dalton got to hold his little brother first. Monkey and Kitty got to see him too. Yes, he is here. He was a whopping 9 lbs. 14 oz. and an amazing 22.5 inches long. He was squashed in there and glad to be out. Isn't he cute?
Big brother is so proud. . . . Possible names: Easton, Dawson, Coleman or Cooper with a middle name of James. What do you think? You have a few minutes to cast your vote.
Woops this quick picture caught Mom with her eyes closed. Sorry Kim. What a great family. Aren't we glad he is here. Mom is doing good and said this was the best delivery ever. He was born at 2:20 pm.

Saturday, Snow, Snowmen and Sun

What a perfect winter day. We rounded-up some of the kids, got our snow clothes on, hooked up the sled to the four wheeler and played in the snow for hours. The girls cleaned up the icicles in the back, where we have huge drifts by now and Dalton appears around the corner on the four wheeler to tackle the drifts in the back yard. It turned out to be very warm and perfect snowman making snow and with some help from my kids we got the snow version of the grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa. If you look close we have grandpa's arm around Grandma, real carrot noses and 11 grandkid snowmen all in front and one little baby snowman on the green blanket on the cute little snowball seat. Kitty is sitting with the little baby snowman. We gave Grandpa and the two boy snowmen some twigs for hair.
It took us about 2 hours to get everything made and toward the end the temperature had gone way up and the snowmen were loosing their carrot noses and rock eyes. So we had to hurry and get a picture. The silly kids gave Grandma and Grandpa a sweet kiss while Maddie holds the baby snowman. So once there was a snowman and in the sun they melted. It was super fun while it lasted, even though we got sweaty in our snow clothes and got soaked from the melting snow. The kids rode the four-wheeler all over the field pulling the sled. Grandpa said they really messed up the field, it was nice and smooth now it looks like a freeway! They also have some big snowdrifts that they ride on around the house.

So even though we were warm we had to have hot chocolate with squirt cream on top. As Grandpa would say, "I don't want you guys having any fun now."

Well we did anyway.

Crazy granny fun!

Okay!! I can now say I have tried this. The ultimate junk food. Deep fat fried twinkies!!!! No kidding. Some of the guys I work with found a place in SLC that makes these. We had to try them even at $10.00 for two twinkies. So three of us shared one plate. That was plenty and I must say not greasy like I expected. It has a cake like batter coating, served with a scoop of ice cream and some cherry topping. It melted the creamy center of the twinkie and it was not sloppy sweet. You can go to the Bayou in downtown SLC, if you're dying for one.
Must tell you that they will card you. (so no kids here)!!!!! Kitty just about ate it all himself.

Little America

Power Training for EB in SLC. A night at the hotel, out to eat, swimming with my Utah kids, always fun. It is a great pool, it is indoor but you can go outside too under the bridge. It was great weather and we really have some fish in our family.
The elevator is quite an attraction and someone gets a little shaky when they ride it and like to be held. This is the mirror shot as we were going down.

Then it gets late so we send them home and I snuggle up in a tower room and sleep cross-wise in the king size bed! I like it.

Thanks Brook for the nice little note on my pillow and it was fun to share the mints with you guys.

Basketball

We are the super fans-what great fun. Kitty gets to go too.
We keep on the run watching our favorite players. We really are good cheerleaders. Senior night and honoring the coaches and their wives.

Our little Bee at the beehive, will they go on to State?

A Fun Day Off

I did some things I had really been wanting to do, so when I had a day off I had a Mary Kay makeover. My Mary Kay lady and her assistance helped and we had a good time.

Then I got to go to Rick's Aunt Irene and visit. I had lots of question about the Cook house that she grew up in and where we live now. This is the beginning of my next project, "This Old House". She is in her 90's and a delight to visit with.

What is this thing?

Any guesses? This came driving down our lane. Oh not to be afraid, it is a new toy that was given to Rick from a friend. This was made years ago by Rick, Frank and David Jones. The front was a loader salvaged by the Jones' and they mounted it on a truck frame and put hydraulics on it and the old truck cab. The forks will come off and a loader bucket will be put on. Very interesting "thing".
Very creative isn't it?
